Accounts Department is a
very important department under Municipal Council. The main functions of the
said department are as follows.
1. To exercise administrative control over the
financial affairs and operations of the Municipal Council.
2. To record the daily receipts from various
departments in the municipal council and to keep a daily account of the
expenses
3. Preparation of annual revised and new budget
of Municipal Council.
4. Compilation of information from various
departments of the Municipal Corporation in accordance with the budget and
other financial matters.
5. Creation of Accrual – Expenditure Classified.
6. Keeping accounts of the gratuities given to
employees and officers.
7 Accepting government and semi-government grants
and keeping their financial accounts. 8. Preparing Bank Reconciliation.
9. Correspondence with concerned department of
Govt.
10.Investment and renewal/in cash of deposits of
various funds in the near future to convert. 11. Preparation of Annual Accounts.
